Rancho Del Zocalo Burrito Sonora with Beef Descent for Disney, had a lot of rice and little meat. The red sauce over it was nothing to write home about. Esquite Bowl Flavorful esquite bowl, they added small tortilla chips to the mix which added a nice crunch. It needed more salsa so I added some from the packets they have outside from where you purchase. Tortilla chips are freshly made with a hint of lemon. Soy Chorizo con Papa Tacos It was a smaller portion than I was expecting but it was good. I wish they would give you bigger tortillas for the tacos or at least serve it with a side of beans and rice, instead of tortilla chips. Mickey Shaped Churo Cream Puff Tasty concha like dessert filled with lechera
When visiting the Disneyland Resort, there are so many dining options. This location is more of a cafeteria style where you have a tray to get your food served, pay, then be seated. Personally, it is not my favorite as I either prefer mobile order for ease or sit down location to rest with service to the table. Lots of seating and it is decorated throughout the year so that's nice. The soy chorizo tacos make it worth it though!
We came here mostly for the Fantasmic seated area viewing tickets, so considering the package with a meal, it's not bad! The food was OK, decently portioned. Of course, there are better food options at Disney. But if you're trying to nab those Fantasmic tickets, it's a v good deal, imo. Since we came in with low expectations, the shrimp tacos and carne asada were much better than expected. Not big dessert fans, so we didn't eat the cake slice. And a regular drink is provided as well. It's first-come first-serve for seating, but they had plenty for our 9ppl group size. Overall, it's pretty worth, all-considering.
When at the Happiest Place on Earth (aka Disneyland)... Do... What makes YOU Happy! Go to Space (Mountain). Run from Pirates (of the Caribbean). Chase some Haunted (Mansion) Ghosts. Get completely soaked on Splash Moun... errr I mean on Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Take a selfie in front of the Magic Castle. (Treat) yourself every chance you get and make sure to eat your body weight in churros, cotton candy, turkey legs, dole whip, popcorn and dill pickles. And when it's time for lunch or dinner and your stomach suddenly needs a little "T.L.C."... Come get your T.L.C: T-acos L-ime-Cucumber Agua Fresca C-rispy Chips Con Limón And make sure to come by Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante and get your Mexican on! Remember earlier when I said do what makes YOU happy! Well you know what makes ME happy??? K Tacos, Tacos, Tacos... ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! Well lucky for YOU and even luckier for ME... A Trio of not one, not two, but THREE street tacos is on the menu and it' is 1000% my jam. The trio as it comes, comes with 1 beef (steak), 1 chicken, & 1 Soy Chorizo con papa (potato) garnished with onions, cilantro and a tomatillo salsa (I'd say it's more medium than mild, but definitely not hot), and you are allowed to mix and match, or get all 3 tacos with the same protein if you so choose. Beans & rice are offered as a side dish, definitely add these as the tacos on their own are not that filling. Not feelin' Tacos? That's ok! They've also got a Burrito Sonora with beef or chicken, Pollo Asado, Carne Asada Fries, a chicken Caesar salad or an Esquite bowl (white corn kernels, chipotle cream, crispy corn, cilantro & cotija cheese) and even a kids menu item for the littles. Trust me, everything coming out of this kitchen looks absolutely D-Lish! The only thing that would make this place any better... Is a little Margarita Action. Maybe in the future! So when you're at the Happiest Place on Earth... Find. Your. Happiness! As for my happiness... Mine just happens to be wrapped in little corn tortillas stuffed with all my favorite things! So... Whatcha gonna order??
Rancho del Zocalo Restaurant is right in the middle of Disneyland park. It has lovely colored shade and I love the ambiance here. They have strings of light in pretty glass colored lanterns, sturdy tables & chairs and seating under the building area. It can also get very hot especially in the summer. They have employees clearing and cleaning the tables as patrons leave. Some even come to help you. You order inside. I'm not sure what happened but I was unable to order on the app this trip. They are usually pretty quick but the wait time was longer. Or actually, sometimes they got it together in the kitchen, their assembly line and they get the order out pretty fast. Today, they took longer than normal. They got rid of the secret menu after Covid. You use to be able to order the biggest burrito with all the sauces. Now, they don't have my favorite beef tostada salad in the crispy shell. Of course everything tasted better drenched with salsa and taco sauce. My new favorite is the carne asada fries. Fries were crisp and hot with lots of toppings. It was great with salsa and taco sauce. I love to snack around the park.
Chicken fried torta was super messy but really good! I preferred that over the burrito. Service was fast and we were lucky to find seats that could fit a stroller with a sleeping baby. Would come here again for the sandwich.
I got the pollo asado and it was okayy. Nothing special. The chicken looked better than it tasted. The rice and beans were solid. Would I come here again?... Maybe
Que Rico! We celebrated my birthday yesterday at Disneyland yesterday and stopped by Rancho Del Zocalo to try out several of their menu items to share after seeing some great reviews on YouTube. Disneyland has been stepping up their Mexican eats at both parks, and we haven't tried this specific restaurant before, so we were so excited to try it out. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and Miguel from Coco can be found just around the corner for a photo op. There's flowers and outdoor seating in shaded patios spread throughout with a really nice restroom located near the entrance. It's cafeteria style, which can be a little confusing at first with multiple sections and lines where you can only order certain menu items like the torta in one place while the esquite is ordered at desserts (idk why). The staff are pretty nice overall, except for one of the oldest cast members yelled at my husband twice for getting ice water (it was 107 degrees out) and she didn't explain what the issue was, just that the cup he had was not a water cup. We had finished our drinks and needed water but I guess getting water is not okay? The management saw but just shook their head. Oh, Mama Imelda! Anyway.. the food was presented well, and my husband loved the torta, especially with a side of the tomatillo salsa. To me, the esquite was not truly anything like an esquite and lacked flavor, and the frozen hot chocolate was very thick like syrup and not very refreshing. I'd skip those. The churros, though! These are the best churros at Disney! Fresh and crunchy, and the side of cajeta was just perfect. In the future I'd like to try the chicken plate I saw other people order it looked pretty good or the tacos.
